Telemedicine

What is Telemedicine?

'Telemedicine refers to the exchange of information with a core objective to improve patient’s health through electronic communication means. With the emerging situation of COVID-19, it has become inevitable to expand the use of technology in order to help the needy patients who might not be the victims of COVID-19, however they do require a routine care, keeping vulnerable beneficiaries and beneficiaries with mild symptoms in their homes while maintaining access to the care they need. By doing this we may also limit the community spread of the virus and also limiting the exposure to other patients as well as staff members. Telemedicine being a specialized program from CMS, whereby medical care services are provided by the providers to the patients remotely. The process of telemedicine also involves an eligible referring provider site(called an originating site) and an eligible consulting provider site (called a distant site) via two way, real time, interactive, secured and HIPPA compliant, electronic audio and video telecommunication system. It technically consists of clinical services for a patient delivered from one provider to another with the patient present. Enrollment and approval for participation in the program are pre-requisites of Telemedicine. For clinicians interested in providing these types of telemedicine services to their patients, Infinite Solution has a Telemedicine Program with an operational policy and equipment standards for telemedicine services.'
